弊社は1926年、中村 治（オサム）によって大内人形の制作が始まりました。

1975年2代目中村 弴（ジュン）により有限会社中村民芸社を設立。

2016年6月1日、代表取締役に3代目中村 功（コウ）が就任。

2021年5月1日現在、大内塗漆器振興協同組合理事長中村建（ケン）、同組合事務局長中村理恵として兼務しております。

　3代目長男 功は、石川県立輪島漆芸研修所を卒業後、蒔絵師の内弟子（5年間）で技術を学び、専務取締役 中村 建（ケン）も輪島塗師に内弟子（5年間）を経て兄弟共に切磋琢磨しながら漆塗りのあらゆる技法を大内塗に生かすべく活躍しております。また、営業・事務担当の取締役 中村 理恵は、現在 大内塗漆器振興協同組合 事務局を兼務し、県内外に大内塗の魅力を発信するため、展示会出展、イベント企画・運営等、活動の場を広げております。

　弊社の特色は、何といっても大内塗漆器・大内人形をすべて下地から蒔絵付まで一貫生産し、木地の選択、上質の漆、デザインにこだわりを持った塗り物づくりが出来るということです。
　現在では、全国の有名百貨店にも販路を拡充し成果を高めているところでございます。今後は、生活に密着した商品開発、そして海外にまで販路を拡大したいと考えております。山口の伝統工芸品を世界へ発信できるよう日々努力し研鑽してまいります。

　Our company is characterized by our integrated production of Ouchi-nuri lacquerware and Ouchi-ningyo dolls, from the base coat to the maki-e process, and by our commitment to the selection of wood, high quality lacquer, and design.

　Currently, we are expanding our sales channels to famous department stores throughout Japan, and our results are improving. In the future, we would like to develop products that are closely related to daily life and expand our sales channels to overseas markets. We will continue to make daily efforts to improve our craftsmanship so that we can introduce Yamaguchi's traditional handicrafts to the world.
